Summary

Where there are ghosts, Cassidy Blake follows 。。。 unless it's the other way around?

Cass thinks she might have this ghost-hunting thing down。 After all, she and her ghost best friend, Jacob, have survived two haunted cities while travelling for her parents' TV show。

But nothing can prepare Cass for New Orleans, which wears all of its hauntings on its sleeve。 In a city of ghost tours and tombs, raucous music and all kinds of magic, Cass could get lost in all the colourful, grisly local legends。 And the city's biggest surprise is a foe Cass never expected to face: a servant of Death itself。

Cass takes on her most dangerous challenge yet。。。

Ghosts, Death, and New Orleans are all the ingredients needed for Cassidy Blake and friends to get into trouble。 Friendship is a wonderful thing, to have it at a young age are even more precious。 You can never be too old for a good read。 Middle grade or not。 Highly anticipating the next installment。

Love Love Love this series!!!!

Think this was my favourite in the series。 Cassidy’s parents tv show takes them to New Orleans。 Cassidy is being hunted by one of deaths reapers who wants to take back the life she stole when she survived drowning in the river。 Lara her in-betweener friend comes to help and Cassidy risks losing both her and Jacob while she tries to survive。 I love the amount of research that’s went in to these books。 Using real places and history to add to the story。

I absolutely love this middle-grade series!Although this one is definitely not my favorite of the three it was still so enjoyable。 I adore Cass and both of her friends。 And I am unsure if this is the last book in the Cassidy Blake series, but I loved following her through her adventures, and I would love to see more!!

Or was cassy gay asf??? Idk, i ship her with Lara and i hope they get merried and adopt jacob, thanks。

I like this series a lot。 I like the characters and I like that each book is set in a different location and Schwab does a good job weaving in some of the history of each place and adding some local "flavor"。 While this book has some repeated themes--Cass is being haunted again by a baddie that wants to take her life force, this one is augmented by the addition of Lara (a character who only had a minor role in the other books) who decides to come and help Cassidy and Jacob take down the "death r I like this series a lot。 I like the characters and I like that each book is set in a different location and Schwab does a good job weaving in some of the history of each place and adding some local "flavor"。 While this book has some repeated themes--Cass is being haunted again by a baddie that wants to take her life force, this one is augmented by the addition of Lara (a character who only had a minor role in the other books) who decides to come and help Cassidy and Jacob take down the "death reaper" or whatever the guy is officially called (seems like they called him several different things)。 Well-told story and definitely will continue reading the series if Schwab keeps writing it! 。。。more

Cass is in New Orleans with her parents。 This story is a bit different from the two previous books because Cass and Jacob aren't trying to deal with a ghost they are dealing with death。 An emissary of death is after Cass because she didn't die when she fell in the river (event that occured before the first book)。 The story is well done and spooky。 It was fun to visit New Orleans through Cass's eyes。 Cass is in New Orleans with her parents。 This story is a bit different from the two previous books because Cass and Jacob aren't trying to deal with a ghost they are dealing with death。 An emissary of death is after Cass because she didn't die when she fell in the river (event that occured before the first book)。 The story is well done and spooky。 It was fun to visit New Orleans through Cass's eyes。 。。。more

3。5 stars。 This is book three in the City of Ghosts series but there is enough info to where you could read this as a standalone book。 I think these are fun, quick reads and hopefully, we will see another book in the future。 Out of all three books, this one was my least favorite with a 3。5 star rating。 In this book Cassidy and her parents are in New Orleans filming another episode for their paranormal tv show。 Cassidy finds herself with Jacob & Laura again as they "fight" the Emissary of Death。 3。5 stars。 This is book three in the City of Ghosts series but there is enough info to where you could read this as a standalone book。 I think these are fun, quick reads and hopefully, we will see another book in the future。 Out of all three books, this one was my least favorite with a 3。5 star rating。 In this book Cassidy and her parents are in New Orleans filming another episode for their paranormal tv show。 Cassidy finds herself with Jacob & Laura again as they "fight" the Emissary of Death。 It is another good story and the narrator of the audiobook made the voice of the Emissary soooo spooky。 A couple of times I was really creeped out hearing that late at night。 I loved the New Orleans vibe, the tarot card reader, the seance, the haunted places they visited and we can't forget their visits to eat beignets at Cafe du Monde。 。。。more

Another great read by Victoria Schwab。 I was happy to see Lara made a bigger appearance in this book than the last。 And I do hope more books in the Cassidy Blake series will come in the future。

One thing I adored about this book was the fact that I could picture everything that was being described so vividly, as I have gone to New Orleans myself and stayed in the same French Quarter that this story takes place! The places and restaurants mentioned gave a sense of realism to the story that, in my opinion, made it even more immersive。 Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself。 In Bridge of Souls, Cassidy, Jacob, and Lara (she’s back aaahhh!!!!!) must face their most dangerous adversary yet: an emissary of Death。 Death, it seems, does not like to be robbed of lives。 Given that Cassidy and Lara should have died instead of coming back and becoming In-Betweeners, the emissary has zeroed in on them。 They must get help from a very unlikely and incredibly secretive society in order to take on their latest and greatest opponent。 However, at the end, Cassidy is left with a seemingly impossible choice and must make a decision that could change her life forever。This book was such a pleasure to listen to! Cassidy is such an amazing protagonist and watching her growth from the very first book up until this one has truly been a treat。 In this part of her journey, I find that she was forced to look within herself a lot more。 There was far more introspection done, which I think made me like it even better than the previous three books。 On top of that, I was so happy to see development occurring within Jacob, as well! I love how protective he is over Cass。 It is one of those rare platonic relationships between a boy and a girl, where both parties are so connected and care so much for the other。 Watching Jacob grapple with the fact that he might be putting Cass in danger and being told (by Lara, no less) that he was actually what was protecting her the most might have been one of my favorite parts of this book! Lara, as usual, was absolute perfection and I love her so much。 He character strikes me as very Hermione-esque, which makes sense given the amount of Harry Potter references made。 However, seeing her let her guard down more and start to have a better relationship with Jacob was fantastic。 They still had good banter, but it felt friendlier。I hope Victoria Schwab writes more for this series, as this was such a nice thing to listen to on my commute to and from work! 。。。more

Initial thoughts: This was such a satisfying way to end the series! Bridge of Souls was imaginative, introducing twists that were more sinister than in the first two books without getting too dark though for middle grade readers。Yet, what surprised me most were the repeated Harry Potter references, which I didn't think added very much for the target audience。 I felt like that was nostalgia aimed at older readers, which was unnecessary。In any case, the Cassidy Blake trilogy, made me think of Schw Initial thoughts: This was such a satisfying way to end the series! i really like these books。 they're easy to read and are a good time。the only complaint i have is that, in this book, cassidy wonders what lara feels when she crosses the veil, except we already know? i think we find out in the first book。 i'm not sure why it annoyed me as much as it did, but it did。*read for the may museum challenge i really like these books。 they're easy to read and are a good time。the only complaint i have is that, in this book, cassidy wonders what lara feels when she crosses the veil, except we already know? i think we find out in the first book。 i'm not sure why it annoyed me as much as it did, but it did。*read for the may museum challenge 。。。more

Loved it! I mean it was just perfect! Far more scary (yes it was in its own way), creepy and full of souls - scary ones。 Moreover, Death literally was after Cassidy Blake。 Did I say that I was terrified for Jacob? Because things usually just happen to bestfriends or they die so naturally I was scared for Jacob (I JUST LOVE HIM!) so I was so relieved at the end。 Because that would have been such a heartbreak! This is actually a 3。5 star read for me。 This was still a creepy ghost story but I felt it missed the punch that ‘Tunnel of Bones’ had (which was a 5 star read for me)。The Emissary of Death was definitely creepy but I also felt he was a bit of a stereotypical ‘bad guy’。 I just wish there had been a bit more of an emotional foe。 The setting of New Orleans was fun due to the history of the city but I felt I couldn’t relate as much since I’ve been to both Paris + Edinburgh。I really enjoyed Jacob’s This is actually a 3。5 star read for me。 This was still a creepy ghost story but I felt it missed the punch that ‘Tunnel of Bones’ had (which was a 5 star read for me)。The Emissary of Death was definitely creepy but I also felt he was a bit of a stereotypical ‘bad guy’。 I just wish there had been a bit more of an emotional foe。 The setting of New Orleans was fun due to the history of the city but I felt I couldn’t relate as much since I’ve been to both Paris + Edinburgh。I really enjoyed Jacob’s character and his relationship with Cassy。 I’m also really intrigued to see more of The Society of the Black Cat and to see which country is next! 。。。more

The third book in the Cassidy Blake series continues to be fun。 I loved the setting for this book, New Orleans honestly made the story seem creepier and more atmospheric than normal。 I loved the friendship with Cassidy and Jacob and the development of a friendship between Laura and Jacob (much to Laura’s objection)。 Getting Laura’s back story was interesting and also sad but I loved how it was interwoven with the plot which was interesting and answered a question I had lingering。 I am sad this i The third book in the Cassidy Blake series continues to be fun。 I loved the setting for this book, New Orleans honestly made the story seem creepier and more atmospheric than normal。 I loved the friendship with Cassidy and Jacob and the development of a friendship between Laura and Jacob (much to Laura’s objection)。 Getting Laura’s back story was interesting and also sad but I loved how it was interwoven with the plot which was interesting and answered a question I had lingering。 I am sad this is the ending (for now) but it was a good ending so no harm。 。。。more
